The ASFK came into existence on 20th November 1998 and was formally inaugurated on 15th March 1999. It is a registered body under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 (Karnataka Act 17 of 1960).

The forum was founded by the visionary efforts of Late Dr. M.G. Bopaiah and Dr. B.C. Uthaiah, whose dedication laid the foundation for a platform that would bring together farm sciences professionals from Kodagu.

ASFK began its journey with humble beginnings—5 Patrons, 41 Life Members, and 94 Annual Members. Over the years, the forum has steadily grown in strength and scope, reflecting the collective commitment of its members.

Today, ASFK proudly comprises 20 Patrons and 270 Life Members, and continues to be a vibrant, inclusive platform for professional networking and knowledge sharing among farm sciences graduates in Kodagu.
