NEWS

  • The Annual General Body Meeting was held on Sunday, 20th July 2025, at 5:00 PM at ‘Anugraha’, Lions Seva Bhavan, Pollibetta. During the meeting, the minutes of the previous AGM was ratified, and the annual report along with the audited statement of accounts for the year 2024–25 was adopted. The budget estimate for the year 2025–2026 was also presented. On this occasion, Dr. P. G. Chengappa (former Vice-Chancellor, UAS Bangalore), Sri J. G. Kaveriappa (Hon. Board Member, KSNUAHS, Shivamogga), and Sri Lochan Bopanna Moovera (for his exceptional achievement in the UPSC Civil Services Examination and selection to the Indian Forest Service) were felicitated. New office bearers for the term 2025–2027 were elected during the meeting.
  • The 6th EC meeting was held on  8th July 2025 at Kodava Cultural Association, Siddapur.
  • 25th  Foundation Day of ASFK was celebrated on  26th November 2024 with a farmers mela at College of Forestry, Ponnampet and a formal member meeting held at The Spice Rack, Gonikoppal.
  • November 2024: Silver Jubilee Scholarship Fund: ASFK members have contributed generously and we were able to reach a corpus Rs 15,00,000 in less than a year. Thank you to all our members for the support.
  • Under revival of collective paddy cultivation ASFK partnered with Connecting Kodavas to restore 30 acres of paddy field in Bollarimad village on 17th August 2024. The project was supported by Department of Tourism Kodagu under responsible tourism initiative where Brigade Foundation Bangalore, Taj Resorts Madikeri, T John Group of companies, JP Resorts and TATA COFFEE LIMITED joined hands with us in supporting the project.
  • ASFK Silver Jubilee commemoration workshop on “Prospects and Problems of Agroforestry in Kodagu- Learning from Success Stories” was held on Tuesday, 7th May 2024 at College of Forestry, Ponnampet which is part of the training program under the Sustain Landscape project sponsored by SUCDEN India Limited.
  • A seminar and interaction on revival of Coorg Mandarin with special emphasis on Citrus greening disease was organised at College of Forestry, Ponnampet on 23rd December 2023. Dr Srinivas Makam, Director of Sciences, BioMimmetic Soil Solutions interacted with about 45 citrus farmers.
  • Workshop on MODERN PROFITABLE FARMING STRATEGIES was conducted on 25th April 2023 at College of Forestry, Ponnampet. Dr A S Patil, horticulturist and Hightech Project Consultant, spoke on farming of exotic fruits and vegetables.
